    Once upon a time there lived a mother and a foolish son. One Sunday morning she put down a sheep's head and a duck. She left her foolish son to mind the meat when she was going to mass. After a while the boy looked into the pot and he saw the sheep's head chasing the duck in the pot. So he ran off to the chapel and called out his mother and told her the sheep's head was following the duck in the pot.

    One time there lived a queer old man in the parish of Inistioge he was married and had a wife and family. When his wife died, the friends took the children and left him by himself so he had to mind the
