    made of bog oak. Scarves were put on these sticks and then the thatch was put on.
    The floors were made of earth and the hearth was made of bricks. The windows are very small in most of the old houses thre is a bed in the kitchen called a Settlebed. This is a bed by night and a seat by day. There are generally one or two "pucks". Before paraffin came out the people had rushlights and tallow candles.
