About a mile from Maynooth we have a very ancient building called the Obelisk.

About a mile from Maynooth we have a very ancient building called the obelisk . It was built in the very bad time by Lady Louise Connolly . The stones for building were taken from a quarry about two miles away . There were no carts or horses used at the carting of the stones . There was a chain of labourers from quarry to building and the stones even passed from hand to hand .
