    I was told that on Doctor's lane Maynooth there is to be seen a big black dog, and a little woman dressed all in white. One night my mother was throwing out water and a black dog came up beside her. When she turned round to come in the dog disappeared and my mother came in and fainted. She was confined to bed for three weeks after it.
