    It is sad that any boy or girl born on Whit Monday will kill somebody or be killed themselves.
    It is unlucky to borrow on Whit-Monday.
    It is considered unlucky to throw anything away on "New Years Day."
    On Candlemas day throw a candle away.
    It is lucky to hang a horse shoe in a cowhouse.
