- There is only one forge in this district of Corlea. It is owned by a man called Jack Boylan and his people have been blacksmiths for three generations. Boylan's forge is situated at a crossroads and beside a river.
The forge is attached to the dwelling house and from the outside, one would know it was a forge, except for bundles of horse shoes lying about. There is just a plain double door at the entrance.
The bellows were not made locally. the smith uses an anvil, bellows, hammers of different shapes and sizes a punch and tongs. He makes these himself with the exception of the avil and the bellows.
He makes farm implement and gates. To make a gate he cuts the iron in bars of the required size and bores holes in the posts to hold the cross bars. He reddens these bars and welds them together.
