The wild birds commonly found in this district of Corlea, are the blackbird, wren, thrush, kingfisher, sparrow, tom-tit, blue-bonnett, crow, magpie, cuckoo, hawk, robin, chaffinch, diver, sea-turkey, curlew, swan, pigeon, seagull, lark, yellow-hammer, wild-duck, and the swallow. The birds that migrate are the cuckoo, and the swallow.
    The wren builds her nest with moss and feathers and lays small white eggs covered with brown spots.
    The blackbird builds her nest with hay and clay and lays large blue eggs dotted with brown spots.
    The crow builds her nest on the top of the highest tree she can find, in the building of her nest she uses sticks and clay, and then she lays a number of green spotted eggs.
    The robin builds her nest in a mossy ditch and lays white and brown eggs.
