  1. Long ago there was a forge in my father's land and there was a mill there also. They used to bring the pig iron from Brewesterfield in small boats on the river Flesk and they used to smelt it in the forge. Some of slates of the old forge are to be seen to this day. This is how our place got the name of Iron Mills or Seana-Céardhcha.
