Then things looked as bad as ever, as Sean and Māire thought he was in bad health for ating so little. They all went to bed [?] and Seamas in one bed and Sean and Māire in another bed. When all were asleep [?] pinched Seamas and told him he was very hungry. Seamas knew that was a pot of bones and thick oaten porridge under the table. He brought a bone to [?]. He got a basin of the thick porridge and carefully left it under the old man in the bed which worked its way under Māire. Seamas had got into bed but was not asleep as he wanted to know what way the porridge would work. After a while Māire said "[?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?]" "Bring the priest in the morning and marry Julia to that man for it goes around that you have such a thing done
