  1. Fairy Forts
There is a fairy fort in the townland of Ramaleen, owned by Thomas O'Conner. It is called Cathair fort. It is incular in shape. There is a stone wall all around it, which is 6 feet high. There is an entrance in the middle. Several people went down the fort but never explored it. It was built by the Dalcassians. Fairy people were supposed to live in this fort in olden times, as they used to find fairy pipes when ploughing outside the fort. Long ago lights used to be seen there sometimes, and music was often heard there.
