    There is one ruined castle in the district known as "Lake View Castle".

    There is one ruined castle in the district known as "Lake View Castle" It is situated in the Parish of Killadoon in County Sligo and is a very ancient Castle.
    No one knows who built it. It is about two hundred years built and is derelict about fifty years.
    This castle was besieged during the troubled times in Ireland. The roof was completely destroyed, the timber was pulled down and the roof thrown.
    This castle was the residence of very wealthy but cruel people. They were landlords called the "Weers" In very poor and hard times when people had scarcely a bit to put into their or their children's mouths they and their children were going about in a coach pulled by two horses oppressing them for their rent.
