  1. In olden times there lived a witch and she worked her witchcraft by "An Barra Stíol" which was a strip of skin from the nape of the neck to the heel of a dead person. She would go to a graveyard at night and cut this strip off a corpse. Once she changed a hound and a hare into two rocks that are still to be seen in Carrowreagh.
