    They would soon get a letter from their husbands.
    The way the wind is blowing on November Day, that is the way it will be blowing for half the year.
    On November Night young girls stole cabbage out of a neighbour's garden. If the stem was long and straight, they would have a long straight man, if short and stumpy they would have a short and stumpy man, if the cabbage was very open and the leaves loose they would get a spend-thrift for a husband. The girls had to close their eyes when going into the garden.
