One night as John Stack and my father were hunting rabbits in Sallogher. John rose a white rabbit in a scort of briars. The dogs made at the rabbit but after a while they heard the dogs roar. The dogs came out of the wood and when they were going down the field they heard a noise coming out of the wood.
When they jumped up on the ditch and looked back they saw a man on a horse. He had a bridle and saddle on the horse. The horse's colour was brown. They went home and John did not go home until he heard the cocks crowing. After going home he went to bed and he stayed there for three weeks. - Collector
