  1. The following story was told to me by my mother.
Some years ago a woman died. Her sister was married and all the family were away except one girl. One day her mother sent her to the town. Coming near a bend in the road she saw a woman coming towards her. Thinking that she was an ordinary woman the girl took no notice of her and was about to pass her out when she came straight over and looked into her face. When the woman went away, the girl looked back to see who the rude person was but lo! she had vanished.
The girl told her mother about this mysterious happening when she went home, but they planned to keep it as a secret. That day they were at their dinner when the same woman passed the window. The girl's mother recognised her as her sister who was dead.
