   applied on a bandage to the corn. After a few days the c[?]n falls out.
   The roots of dockens are cures for burns. The dockens are put in boiling water. They are taken out in a few minutes and the water is applied to the burns.
   Bog beans are [?]ery good for cows after calving. This herb grows in a marshy place. When the cow calves it is given to her as grass.
   There is another herb that cures gravel. It has small yellow flowers on it. The leaves are steeped in boiling water. The[?] the water is sugared to taste and is drunk fasting in the morning.
   "Buglas" is good for a whitloe, a boil or a thorn. It grows at the foot of a tree. It is boiled with butter and cream and applied to the sore part.
   There is another herb for curing jaundice. James Galligan of Curraghnawall, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim has this cure. He says that if he told anyone the name of this herb that the cure . would be taken from him.
   Dandelions are great for colds. They are boiled and eaten like cabbage.
   Horses take head-staggers if they eat many "Duacailleáin Dui[?]e."
   Dandelions were supposed to be stars in the sky first. God told them to do something one night and they disobeyed Him. After that He wouldn't let them be so high so He made them stay down on earth and be like stars and delight the passers-by.
