  1. Long ago on St Brigids datypeople used to amake these straw crosses and put them over the front door in honour of St Brigid for good luck
    On St Patrick's day almost every person wears a shamrock. On that day long ago people came to Mohill from the surrounding parishes for a commemoration of St Patrick and the men used to wear a long green sashes with a tinsil fringe and an emblem of St Patrick on the right side and they used to walk to St Patricks well and this commemoration was called "St Patricks Walk" but this custon has faded away for the last forty or fifty years.
