    of the cross, and the stations. Easter Sunday morning is a morning for feasting on eggs. It is forbidden to go near on Whit and Monday. On May day people strew flowers outside their doors.
    St John's night is bon-fire night. St Peter and Paul's day 29th June and the Assumption 15th August are religious holidays.
    On St Martin's day people kill a fowl in honour of him, and make the sign of the cross with the blood in the four corners.
    Hallowe'en night is a night of great joy for young and old. The young people go ducking for apples and money, they also playing other tricks. The old people tell stories by the fire-side. On the twelveth day of Xmas, twelve rush candles are lighted.
    On St Stephen's day the boys go mumming, they dress in disguise and play music
