    small stream flows in front of the door. The forge itself is just one apartment having a door and chimney but without a window. The walls inside are not plastered and the roof is thatched. The door is rectangular shaped and is not rounded at the top.
    There is a raised fire-place or furnace opposite the door. Between the fire-place and door the bellows is fitted. It is a large bellows with strong leather sides, wooden top and bottom, and a metal "snout." The smith works it by means of a handle above his head. To make the fire of "culm" blaze he raises and lowers this handle with his left hand.
    His special work is shoeing horses, asses, mules and jennets. He also makes and repairs gates, grates, for burning culm, hangers or hinges for gates, and for doors of out-offices. He parpairs loy blades. He repairs farm machinery of many kinds, such as ploughs, mowing-
