    Crops
    If oats are not sown before 21st April, they are called "Cuckoo Oats", and is never a good crop if sown after 21st April.
    Plant onions the shortest day, and pull them on the longest day.
    Sow carrots and parsnips before St. Patrick' day.
    Potatoes should be planted any time from St. Patrick's Day to the 12th April.
    Sow turnips last week in April. If not don't sow again until the last week in May.
    Don't put on your fire on May Day until the sun is up.
