    The most time people get married is in Shrove.

    The most time people get married is in Shrove. Long ago the people used to say that Mondays thursdays and Saturdays were very unlucky for getting married. The old people say it is very lucky to break a glass or something in the house the day of the wedding, to throw a old shoe after them and to shake rice on them after they getting married. They say which ever the husband or wife would put their foot out the chapel door first after getting married would die the first.
    They used to give as a fortune £100 and a heifer or £50 and
