    Fairies are generally believed to be in a forge.
    The people gave the smiths a day at the harvest work such as bringing in the hay or cutting the corn. The smiths are regarded very strong men.
    There was a blacksmith in this district long ago who had any education and when he wanted to tell his neighbours about a plough or a spade he drew the implement on a piece of paper with a burnt stick.
