  1. Schools
There were hedge schools in my district long ago. They were in the Townland of Moylough and the barony of Tyquin. They were held under trees in summer and in a barn in winter. Some of them had classes in a farmer's house.
    Teachers
John Burns and Pat Mahon were the teachers names. The people of the villages supported them. They went from village to village. They stayed a month in every district. Then they came back to the same district every second month.
    Subjects
English reading and writing and sums.
    Books
They called the books "Reada me Daisy". They called every books a daisy.
