    cows are cross they are tied by the horns, feet and round the waist. We call the tying by the feet fettering.
    People put the sign of the cross on the cow after milking.
    Horses.
    The Connemara pony is one of the oldest at the present day. There was another pony owned by Ted Blake of Ballnafad named Kangaroo. The horse was expected to win a race but he only came second and Ted said "I will keep in his stable for seven years and he will win the race then." So he won it in Punchestown. When calling horses they say "phreach"
