  1. The roads were known as "Boreéns" They lead to the wells, to the market town and to the bogs. There are old roads in the district and all used at the present day. The roads were made about a hundred years ago, and tarred ten years ago. The people were working from early morning to late at night for four pence a day. Before bridges were made planks were going across the rivers. There was a plank over Shiven river in Springlawn.
There was a country dance at the cross roads every Sunday night.
There a several monuments in the district. There is one in Laught and another in Timree.
