    It was occupied by the soldiers of O'Kelly who lived in a castle in sight of the fort. A little bohereen can be seen winding its way from the fort towards the castle. Bushes are growing in the dyke where the water was and little blue flowers grow on them. Nearby there is a sandpit and a big stone is in it. It is said that if that stone was removed it would be possible to enter the fort.
    In the same townland there is a small hillock in which fairies are supposed to dwell. The people often tried to sow seeds on it but they would not grow. One day a fortune teller passed by and the people were sowing trees on it.
