  1. A Song - The Brave Paddy Knight (continued)

A few years ago, ¶ When the times they were bad,

    (continued from previous page)
    When Paddy was gone,
And Norah she felt the hours awfully long,
    The neighbours would ask her,
    How Paddy would be,
Or did he write home any letter to ye,
    John went to the town,
    And Pat Byrne he met,
    And to be sure,
    A big letter from Pat,
    He did get,
    He opened the letter,
And this is what it read,
To show your dear brother that I am not dead,
    I'm stationed in Cork,
    In the town of Macroom,
So I'm sendin you my photo
    In my new uniform,
You can tell all the neighbours,
    That I am all right,
