  1. The Leipreachan

    There are not many stories told about the leipreachán in this district. This is one I head of:-
    About a hundred years ago a family lived in this district name Farrells. They were looked upon as being very greedy and they were also very poor.
    One day, they man of the house was out working in the field. In the evening he got very tired, and sat down under a great oak tree. After a while, he heard something, and he looked about him. At the other end of the tree he saw a little man whom he knew to be a leipreachán making a little gold shoe.
