  1. The Landlord of this place lived in Dunmore in the 18 century. He was Sir Deering hence the Deering estate. The estate comprised of the villages Roy, Mark, Stonepark, Cathill, Cloonnagh, Ballymoney, Menus and Park. Dunmore was not grand enough for him so he went back to England and had agents in the demeine in Dunmore to collect the rents. His agent was Mr Griffith. He lived about a hundred years ago. Later his daughter married the late Captain martin. After that the Land Commission took up the land.
