“There is a lough near Malin called The Medianmore Lough.”
There is a lough near Malin called "The Medianmore Lough". It is one mile long and one mile broad.
This is a story that happened long ago in the years gone by about that lough.
There was once a protestant man living close to the lough, who had a water mill, but as the water was scarce, he did not know what he would do for water.
He thought of the lough and he said he would not be long getting water.
He went and he got a spade, and he dug a trinket from the mill to the lough. He thought it had not as much power as any other lough.
The water came out of the lough with full force and by the time it reached the mill it smashed it to pieces. It had the colour of blood. There was a "cripple" in Bree and it was a girl. The people of the house left her sitting on the road and when the water of the lough came down to her it swept over her and she was able to walk in to the house again.
While the man that let the water run away of out of the lough was glad to get back to(continues on next page)- Collector
