  1. Cobblers is one of the many games played at wakes in this district. Everybody who likes can play this game.
A trade is given to each player such as a cobbler, a carpenter, a blacksmith, a cooper and a painter and so on till each has a trade. A cobbler gets a shoe, a hammer and a last. The carpenter gets a board and a saw. The blacksmith gets an anvil, a piece of iron and a sledge. The cooper gets a tub, a hoop and a hammer. The painter gets a brush, a box of paint and a board. Then they all begin to work. The person who is appointed boss goes out and when he comes in he rubs soot in the person who is not working. Everybody laughs at the people with black faces till all are blakened.
