   Once upon a time two men were cutting turf in Crucknanonian Hill. The turf spade struck something but the men did not know what it was. They looked at it and it was a crock. They opened it and it was a crock of butter. When the old people heard about it they said it was hid the time of the war.

   Once upon a time there was a man who lived in Culdaff. This man had his house to thatch and he was in sore need of scallops. He heard that there was great scallops at a place called Bunagee. A man appeared to him just as he was about to cut the scallops and told him it would be better for him if he would leave them alone. When he looked around he saw nobody and he started
