    day she met a young girl and she hired her.
    The only [job] the girl had to do was to comb the witch's hair, but she was told to never look up the chimney. But one day when the witch was away she looked, and down fell a pot of gold.
    Suddenly she picked it up, and started off on her way home. She did not go far until she came to a sheep tied by a rope to a bush and it asked her to let it loose and the girl would not. Next she came to a horse and he was tethered to a bush and he asked her to set him free, and the girl refused. Then she came to a ditch which asked her to put a stone on top of it and she did not. Still making her way home the girl met the witch on her broom-stick and when she stopped she took a rod from the ground and hit the girl and turned her into a stone and put it on the ditch.
