    nothing but black stalks. Millions of people died of starvation. The local millers had their meal & formed a "Ring" to force up the price. The price went so high as half a crown for 10 lbs. There was only one shop at the Cross Roads at that time what is now known as "O'Hara's". Charles Kelly kept the shop & he had a large store of meal in it. He kept it too long trying to get a big price so that the "Relief Meal" had come in in the meantime. The moths and things began to [?] in his store till the meal was going "out through the roof" and had to be carted to the river. There was a miller in Castlederg who did the
