  1. The oldest established Hotel in Letterkenny is Hecartys' Hotel. It was there that Wolf Tone was captured about thousand years ago.
They were spinning and weaving carried on in our district in the olden times.
First of all it was teased and then carded. After that it was rolled and then spun
It was sent them to the weaver and he made blankets out of it

  2. One sits at the battle of straw fining it out and the other holds the thraw hook and twists the straw around it.
The thraw hook or carúgan is made of board and wire with a curve in it and the straws twines round this and ropes are made.
    Dying of Homespun.
The crottle that grows on the rocks by the sea and through the heather on rooks is used for dying homespun. It gives it a rust colour. White and black wool makes grey if mixed when spinning.
Onions boiled with wool makes it red
