  1. In Rathmullen near Lough Swilly is the ruin of an old castle. That was once the site of an very proud castle. Its owners was the proud and rich Chief, "Mac Sweeney of the battle axe" It was in this castle that Hugh Roe O'Donnell lived until he was captured and taken prisoner by the English to Dublin castle. Once he and some other youths were playing by Lough Swilly. One of them noticed a Ship coming in. The Sailors invited them aboard. They went but they were made prisoners immediately and taken to Dublin castle.
