There is a small island below Maghery and the old people say that there is a crock of gold and silver hid on it.
There is a big flat stone in the middle of the island and old people say that underneath this stone the crock of gold and silver is. No one likes to search for this gold or silver as the people also say that there is some unknown thing under the stone that is to kill some animal or person if they interfere with the stone.
There went a man to the island long ago with a dog and he tried to turn the stone but could only lift the corner of it. He thought to get the dog down to fight whatever was below the stone and he would get up the crock but he failed and no one tried ever since.
