  1. Many years ago in Barnacoille there was a raheen or fairy fort, in my Granmothers time. Her house was built on the field where it was. Every day a lady would appear before dusk, come in the back door walk to the bread crop and take as much as she wanted then she would disappear. She was a fine tall fair women.
    No one could touch it, because, it was said it opened up. Once Granfather attempted to dig it and sow.
