When there is a ring around the moon it is a sign of bad weather. 3. Bright stars at night are a sign of frosty weather. 4. A mass of small clouds called a mackerel sky is a sign of bad weather. 5. A dog’s tail of a rainbow is a sign of bad weather. 6. Swallows flying low is a sign of rain. 7. Swallows flying high is a sign of good weather. 8. Seagulls flying inland screeching is a sign of bad weather. 9. When the cat sits before the fire and scratches behind her ear it is a sign of bad weather. 10. When the hills are clear and blue and look near it is a sign of rainy weather. 11. When midges are out it is a sign of hot weather. 12. When ants fly thickly is a sign of rain.
