    The feast of St. Michael is kept as a school holiday and a special Mass is sung by the school children on that day.

  2. The local fairs are held in the adjoining towns - Cappoquin, Lismore, Tallow and Fermoy.
    Very frequently the buyers come round to the farmers' houses some days before the fair and buy the cattle in the houses. It is done still, but it was done very frequently about ten years ago.
    Fairs were held about 50 years ago in the village of Ballyduff.
    Two fairs were held, one on the 29th of June and the other on Jan 6th.
