  1. In this district marriages usually took place during the Shrove time , i.e from the 6th January to Shrove Tuesday , but during recent years marriages ae taking place throughout the year , but especially in the months of June , July and September .
    As soon as Shrove time started matches were made, broken , and remade till the last day of Shrove was reached.
