  1. Churning
Our churn is about three feet in width and four feet in height. Our churn is round. The name of it is a plunge churn. Butter is made by putting new milk into a crock to get thick and when there is thick skim on the milk we throw it into the churn and keep churning away until the butter comes on. The people of the house always churn themselves. Strangers always take a turn of the churn before they go out because there would be no butter on the churn if they did not.
