people get knowledge of the weather from dogs also. When rain is coming, the dogs bring in clods of turf to the house. They say too that bad weather is expected when they see a dog eating grass. During thunder and lightning the dogs get very uneasy.
When the people see a ring around the moon they expect bad weather but when the moon has not her right colour and the sky clear then fair weather is expected. The people say when they see the "Reek" clear that fine weather is coming.
