There is a well in Ballintubber.

    Lesson II
There is a well in Ballintubber. People say it was a blessed well long ago. Many people visited it and said prayers at it. If anyone got sick they would pay a visit to it and say prayers at it and they would be cured. A man who had no religion lived in the locality [?]. He had an old blind ass and he made up his mind to bring it to the well to see would it get sight because he did not believe in the cure. He brought the ass to the well and it got sight but the man himself lost his sight and and he went home blind.
