    When the land-lord did not get the rent, he turned the woman out of her house and land. The rich land lord did not live long after that. When he died he could not get into Heaven unless the woman would forgive him for putting her out of her house and land.
    Every night they used to hear a noise in the house until the woman forgave the land lord for what he did. She left the haunted house and she went to stay in her neighbour's house.
    One night a poor old tramp asked her for lodgings for the night. She said she would give him lodgings in a haunted house and he thanked the woman very much. Just at twelve o'clock he heard great noise in the house, he was a very brave man and he ran to where he thought the noise was. Sure enough he saw a coffin coming down the stairs rolling as quick as a flash of lighning when it had reached the bottom the lid flew off the coffin, and the man walked out of it.
    The tramp not losing his courage yet, asked the man what he wanted, and these are the words the man said,
    "I cannot get into heaven unless the woman for-gives me for what I did."
    With that the man vanished. When morning came he told the woman the whole story. She forgave
