    No doubt the times are changing
    from what they were of old
    When you see a motor rushing up
    the winding Glenree road.
    The gentlemen with dog and gun
    Came fowling to this place
    And with merriment and laughter
    those rugged hills to face7

    Their keepers they are waiting
    to join them in the sport
    Their well trained dogs are eager
    to hear the loud reports
    Patiently they wait, the same,
    no better can be found
    They know when the gun is sighted
    The cock grouse comes to the ground.
    III
    When the fowling is all over
    The young men from Ballina
    Come coursing with their greyhounds
    On a fine December day
    These greyhounds they are non pareil
    None with them can compare
