  2. About twenty years ago there was a great poteen-maker in Glenree called Joe Mullarkey or Joe "Jameson" as some called him.
    He was a carpenter by trade and could make anything from a still to a coffin.
    He brewed his poteen in Broca Dubh a lonely spot in the Sliabh Gamh mountains which form the eastern boundary of Glenree.
    He made it from brown sugar, yeast and treacle.
