    When working out it was a common practice to have a fire in the field and people often roasted potatoes for their meals.
    At Christmas it was an old custom to have a goose for the dinner in honour of the feast, on Easter Sunday each person ate three eggs in honour of the Blessed Trinity and boxty was a great treat in the harvest time. Boxty was made from potatoes scraped and baked.
    Delph cups were not used in olden times but people drank out of wooden mugs.
    Tea was used for the first time in this district about sixty years ago.
