    and put down on the griddle to bake. Sometimes it is put leaning against a support and baked before the fire.
    Another kind of bread they made was boxty. This is made in a a very funny manner. A quantity of potatoes are scraped into a bowl containing a little water. After a little while they are taken out, out into a bit of muslin and squeezed well. They are then put into another bowl and mixed with flour, and a little soda is added. It is baked on a griddle and was very nice bread to eat.
    The (pancóg) was also used by the farmers long ago and was highly valued. It was very easily made. A quantity of oatmeal and wheatmeal were mixed together.
