The following beliefs of the weather are:- When the sky is dull and cloudy, when there is a circle round the moon, when the stars are very scarce in the sky, when there is a rainbow, when the dog eats grass, when the cat purrs at the fire, when the dust is rising off the road, when the sea-gulls comes in from the lakes to the dry lands, and when the wind is from the south-west it is the sign of rain.
